One of the tools I use to help me sharpen up my writing is READING OUT LOUD. It is new-ish to me, and in the age of Zoom, I tend to record some of it, whether I am rehearsing for a Zoom reading or I am using the recording to diagnose issues in the text. Reading a scene over and over again, and watching the playback helps me clarify, amplify and improve the text.
